Mary Ella brought her baby brother, Leo for some pictures today. Two of the sweetest little kids! Mary Ella loved wearing her christening dress, and Leo prefered to sport his more natural side :)

Look at those eyelashes!!

Graham and I were invited to travel from Calgary to Vancouver on the Royal Canadian Pacific. CP Rail’s CEO, Fred Green and a CP employee were each running a leg of the torch run in Craigellachie. The site of the “last spike”. So we brought our cameras and took in the festivities! It was an experience I’ll never forget. First time on a train through the mountains. Quite an impressive time!!

The fantastic crew that took care of us so well.

January 31, 2010 - 9:38 pm - SOOOOO fantastic! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!
I’ve dropped the price of the studio mini session from $295 down to $250. I think it’s a good price for this session! Visit the Mud Pie Studio website to see all the packages available!
I had the most incredible opportunity to be a part of olympic history! Graham works for CP Rail and has done many photography related jobs for them over the past 3+ years. This time, they needed 2 photographers, and I was it!
The torch was going to be carried on a hand cart by 4 of CP’s longest standing employees. It took the four men 30 minutes to get the torch across the Lethbridge Viaduct which is 1600 meters long and 97 meters high. Yes, it’s a beast. Graham got to ride in the truck that was ahead of the hand cart. Quite the experience for him!
My post was at the finish line where Chantelle lit her torch from the cauldron and continued the relay through Lethbridge. I have to say it was the most unique and special experience I’ve ever had!

Graham sporting his safety gear

Lethbridge Mayor, Bob Tarleck. Geared up for the day!

MP, Ted Menzies, also decked out in olympic red!

The crowd started to fill in on the adjacent hill. There were a lot of people.

*Above* One of my favourite images of the day.

Payton modelled the olympic attire perfectly!

You can’t celebrate anything without a Timmy’s…

Paisley, sporting those uber warm mittens!

Chantelle waiting for the cauldron to arrive. She was calm excitement!

Straight off the viaduct and down the home stretch. Yes, they were tired!

The lit cauldron.

And off she goes!!

Well, I took the plunge and decided to set up a Facebook page for my business. Honestly, it’s like a second blog and I’m wondering what the benefit is of having it. I’m being told by other industry peers that it’s important to have, so here I go!
I don’t have a lot of weddings booked for this year, so it will mainly be featuring my baby/family sessions. I’ll be promoting special deals and offers on the Facebook page that I won’t be offering on the blog. So check the page often!
I had the pleasure of meeting a few of these family members this past August at a wedding I was shooting. When they called to book a family session I was eager to work with them again!
The 2 hour session went by so quickly, which is a good thing. You know the phrase, “Time flies when you’re having fun.” Everyone was happy, outgoing, and so glad to have one another’s company.
Thank you everyone for the wonderful afternoon! I’ll have your DVDs ready in a few more days!

I wanted to give a shout out to all my 2009 clients! Thank you for making this year a very successful one, full of great smiles and laughter, unique and memorable family sessions and gorgeous, lively weddings.
This year I introduced Mud Pie Studio as my baby, family, prenatal and child studio. It has been such an overwhelming success that my family/studio business increased by 400%! Yes, that’s not a type-o! I’m very excited about where this studio is going to take me in 2010.
Keep an eye on the “specials” tab on the Mud Pie Studio website. I’ve introduced new mini sessions that will be very popular :) They’re not a one time deal with a limited time frame to have them done. These are permanent additions to the variety of packages that I offer.
I wish you all a very Merry Christmas (which was yesterday, actually), and a very Happy New Year! I appreciate each and every one of you, and I look forward to future sessions with you!
((((((Hugs)))))), Virginia

Ahhhh, yes, here is my sister, brother-in-law and adorable nephew. We had the best time. Liam was a star and the most well-behaved 3 year old I know. The one hour zoomed by quickly, yet I was able to capture over 100 really great shots. I can’t wait to do another session with my much loved family!

This one below totally cracks me up. I only have micro-seconds to capture this kind of stuff!!

This last one was a very near miss…. Liam’s foot brushed the lense hood. Whew!!
