I had the most incredible opportunity to be a part of olympic history! Graham works for CP Rail and has done many photography related jobs for them over the past 3+ years. This time, they needed 2 photographers, and I was it!
The torch was going to be carried on a hand cart by 4 of CP’s longest standing employees. It took the four men 30 minutes to get the torch across the Lethbridge Viaduct which is 1600 meters long and 97 meters high. Yes, it’s a beast. Graham got to ride in the truck that was ahead of the hand cart. Quite the experience for him!
My post was at the finish line where Chantelle lit her torch from the cauldron and continued the relay through Lethbridge. I have to say it was the most unique and special experience I’ve ever had!

Lethbridge Mayor, Bob Tarleck. Geared up for the day!

MP, Ted Menzies, also decked out in olympic red!

The crowd started to fill in on the adjacent hill. There were a lot of people.

*Above* One of my favourite images of the day.

Payton modelled the olympic attire perfectly!

You can’t celebrate anything without a Timmy’s…

Paisley, sporting those uber warm mittens!

Chantelle waiting for the cauldron to arrive. She was calm excitement!

Straight off the viaduct and down the home stretch. Yes, they were tired!

The lit cauldron.

And off she goes!!
